Personalized Pain Management in the Glebe

Standard over-the-counter (OTC) options often provide a “one-size-fits-all” concentration. At Whole Health Compounding Pharmacy, we provide customized pharmaceutical care to help Ottawa residents manage inflammation and sports-related injuries through professional compounding and clinical assessments.

The Compounding Advantage

Compounding allows our pharmacists to prepare medications tailored to your specific clinical needs, as authorized by a prescription from your healthcare provider.

    • Individualized Strengths: We can compound medications like Diclofenac at various concentrations (such as 5% to 10%) when commercially available options are not suitable for a patient’s clinical requirements.
    • Specialized Transdermal Bases: We utilize pharmaceutical-grade bases like Lipoderm®, designed to facilitate the delivery of active ingredients through the skin without leaving a greasy residue.
    • Combination Formulations: Based on a prescriber’s order, we can combine multiple active ingredients—such as NSAIDs, anesthetics, or muscle relaxants—into a single topical preparation to address complex needs.
Note: Compounded medications are not reviewed by Health Canada for safety or efficacy. Our pharmacists work closely with you and your doctor to ensure the formula is appropriate for your specific health goals.

Minor Ailment Prescribing: Sprains & Strains

In addition to compounding, our pharmacists are authorized in Ontario to assess and prescribe for 19 minor ailments. If you have suffered a recent musculoskeletal sprain or strain from running or sports, you can consult with us directly. We will evaluate the injury and, if appropriate, can issue a prescription for treatment or recommend necessary supports—saving you a trip to the clinic.
